liblua50-dev software package provides Main interpreter library for Lua 5.0: static library and headers, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install liblua50-dev
liblua50-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the liblua50-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep liblua50-dev *
You will get with liblua50-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
